In 2015, Tim Cargill and Tom Claas forged a strategic partnership to acquire Lyons with a shared vision to “build the business they always wanted to work for” – leading the organization through an exciting decade of rapid growth and transformation.

In 2025, Lyons leadership joined forces with Potawatomi Ventures via strategic acquisition to catalyze the next era of growth as an elite MBE electrical contractor with new synergies and opportunities as part of a larger portfolio of service companies.

Potawatomi Ventures acquired Lyons Electric in 2025, strengthening its portfolio while advancing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and a diversified service offering. Lyons Electric brings best‑in‑class capabilities, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a highly skilled, dedicated team. As the economic development arm of the Forest County Potawatomi Community, Potawatomi Ventures is committed to expanding and balancing a diverse portfolio of service‑based companies to reinforce strong market positioning and create new pathways for long‑term growth.
The Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin (ABC of WI) is a statewide construction industry trade association that represents contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and related businesses in Wisconsin. Lyons Electric has been a proud member of ABC of WI since 2017, supporting merit-based practices for fair competition in the trades.
The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) is a leading corporate membership organization dedicated to advancing opportunities for certified minority-owned businesses. Lyons Electric holds a NMSDC MBE certification as of July 2026.
The Wisconsin Supplier Diversity Program (WISDP) Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) program was the first diverse business certification for the State of Wisconsin. Lyons Electric holds a WISDP MBE certification as of August 2026.
